It is Spring Fever time! The closer it gets, the higher the fever. This past year in North Carolina has certainly been interesting weather-wise. Our family has lived here for 17 years now and this was the first year that we saw SO MUCH rain. We had 15 inches in 24 hours of snowfall (that had to be a new record). Just a couple of weeks ago, we had 5 days of spring before winter temperatures came back again. We are all feeling the fever.
The housing market tends to heat up in this spring fever time also. We have experienced many buyers who have been waiting for the right home to just hit the market in this lower inventory cycle we are currently experiencing. BB&T corporate has announced a move of their Winston-Salem headquarters to the Charlotte area with the merger of BB&T and SunTrust. We should definitely be seeing more inventory this year as this transition takes place.
Good news is while interest rates tended to inch up and up last year, they have recently dipped down again. The Shore Team has established contacts in the lender/mortgage realm to assist our customers. Keller Mortgage has become available in our local market, saving buyers thousands in closing costs with the ZeroPlus Program.
If Spring Fever is affecting you and you or someone you know is looking to buy or sell in 2019, we would consider it a privilege to service your needs.
We hope that everyone has a prosperous 2019 and hope it will be a drier 2019 in North Carolina!
